ME
From 2016-2019 as a Producer and camera operator at VICE News Tonight on HBO, I covered everything from counterfeit Chinese sneaker empires, independent artistry in the US and abroad, and the lethal violence against the LGBTQIA community in my homestate of Texas.
In 2018, I was among a team of producers nominated for a News Emmy for their work on the VICE News Special Report: “Trump's White House: Inauguration Day.” In 2020, I was nominated for a News Emmy for his work on “A Dose of Humanity in Virtual Reality.”
Most recently, I’ve worked with Left/Right Productions to produce an episode for the 41st season of PBS Frontline, covering the changing nature of Major League Baseball and the Houston Astros sign stealin“g scandal of 2017 for the 90-minute documentary, “The Astros Edge.”From 2020-2022 I was a Field Producer for One Story Up Productions on The 1619 Project. (HULU/Onyx Collective/New York Times). I field produced the “Capitalism” and “Race” Episodes. The 1619 Project won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Series at the 2023 Primetime Emmy’s, and a 2024 Cinema Eye Honor for Best Anthology Series.
My documentary production skills are informed by my instincts as a journalist and eye as a photographer. My identity as a Black American, and a first-generation Vietnamese-American allows me to work with people of all backgrounds and work within various contexts. I am available for projects worldwide and am always down to talk ideas, Texas sports, or play a round of golf somewhere in the greater LA area.
